Beautiful Makkah,The Holiest City
Makkah is the most special city for all Muslims.
It is in a Muslim country called Saudi Arabia.
Prophet Adam عليه السلام and his family lived in Makkah and died there.They were the first family that lived on Earth.
Much later, Prophet Ibraheem عليه السلام and his son, Prophet Isma'eele عليه السلام , built Al-Ka'bahin Makkah. This was many,many years before Prophet Mohammad ﷺ was born
Prophet Muhammad was born in Makkah, more than 1400 years ago.
He became a prophet in Makkah.
Al-Qur'an was revealed to him there.
Muhammad received the first Ayaat of Al-Qur'an in Ghar Hiraa' the top of Jabal-un-Noor, or the Mountain of Light.
Makkah was very special to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Abu Bakr, Omar, Othman, Ali and many of the first Muslims were born and lived in Makkah. Later, they moved to Madina with the prophet ﷺ .
Makkah is the Qiblah for Muslims. All Muslims pray to the direction of Al-Ka'bah.
AlKa'bah is in Al-Masjid al-Haram. This means "The Sacred Mosque."
Also next to Al-Ka'bah in Al-Masjid al-Haram is the well of Zamzam. A well is a deep hole in the ground, filled with water. This well has holy water in it. Allah made this spring of water for Prophet Isma'eel عليه السلام and his mother thousands of years ago.
Al-Ka'bah is very special because it is the first Masjid ever built on earth.
Praying in Al-Masjid Al-Haram gives us 100,000 times more reward than praying anywhere else in the world.
One day you will visit Al-Ka'bah and pray near it, insha'Allah!
