Glorification of Allah

✨Glorification of Allah

All praise is due to Allah Lord of the worlds. And there is no deity other than Allah. And glory be to Allah who is far from imperfection and praise be to Him. Glory be to Allah the Most Great. And there is no power or strength except through Allah the Mighty, Wise. He illuminated the path for the wayfarers. And facilitated and guided His believing servants to what is good.

The believer does not find a pleasure better than the closeness to Him. And comfort and pleasantness in Him. And moistening the tongue in His remembrance, glorification and praise.

Ar-Room (30) 17-18: (17) So glorify Allah when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning. (18) And to Him is [due all] praise throughout the heavens and the earth and (glorify Him) in the afternoon (after Asr prayer) and when you reach noon.

So be conscious of Allah the Exalted, obey Him and glorify Him plentifully. For glorifying Him is the most beloved speech to Allah the Most High. As was narrated by Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him):
That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked what is the best of speech? He said: “What Allah selected for His angels or for His servants :
“glory be to Allah who is far from imperfection and praise be to Him”
[Muslim 2731]

Tasbeeh is praising Allah the Exalted and includes exaltation and glorification. And the Noble Quran is filled with the Tasbeeh of Allah the Most High.

Allah glorified Himself in many places in the Quran. As Allah the Most High said in verse 1 of Surah Israa:
Al Israa (17) 1: Glorified (and Exalted) is He Who took His servant for a journey by night

And He the Exalted said in verse 159 of As-Saafat:
As-Saafaat (37) 159: Glorified is Allah free what they describe.

And He the Exalted said in verse 23 of Al Hashr:
Al Hashr (59) 23: Glorified is Allah, far above what they associate with Him.

And it was narrated by Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet ﷺ said:
Allah said: The son of Adam denied Me and he had no right to do so. And the son of Adam reviled Me and he had no right to do so. As for his denying Me, he claimed that I am unable to return him to his previous state. And as his reviling Me, he said that I have taken a son, but Exalted and Glorified am I to take a companion or a son. [Al Bukhari 4482]

Allah the Exalted, the Absolute is far from imperfection and far from the attributes of His creation.

And the angels (عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَام) glorify Allah the Most High. The Most High said regarding their description and actions in verse 20 of Al Anbiyaa:
Al Anbiyaa (21) 20: They glorify Him night and day and do not slacken.

They were inspired to glorify Him such that glorification is like breathing for us. Their tasks do not distract them from it just as nothing distracts us from breathing.

And on the Day of Resurrection when Allah judges between His servants the angels will be glorifying Allah as Allah said in verse 75 of Az-Zumar:
Az-Zumar 75: And you will see the angels surrounding the Throne, glorifying [ Allah ] with praise of their Lord. And it will be judged between them in truth, and it will be said, “[All] praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds.”

And the messengers (عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَام) praised Allah the Most. Yunus (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام) said:
Al Anbiyaa (21) 87: There is no deity but You, Glorified (and Exalted) are You

And Musa (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام) said:
Al Araaf (7) 143: Glory be to You, I have repented to You

And Allah the Exalted commanded our Prophet Mohammad ﷺ to make tasbeeh in many verses:
Al Waaqia (56) 74: So glorify the name of your Lord, the Most Great.

Also:
Al Ala (87) 1: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High

And Mohammad ﷺ said:
Yusuf (12) 108: And glory be to Allah, and I am not of those who associate others with Him.

He used often say in his ﷺ bowing and prostration:
Oh Allah, glory be to you
And the believers glorify Allah the Most High:
Al Israa (17) 107-108: (107) Indeed, those who were given knowledge before it – when it is recited to them, they fall upon their faces in prostration (108) And they say: “Glory be to our Lord, Truly, the Promise of our Lord must be fulfilled.”

And they are commanded to make tasbeeh:
Al Ahzab (33) 41-42: (41) O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance (42) And glorify Him morning and afternoon.

And the thunder glorifies and exalts Allah the Most High:
Ar-Rad (13) 13: And the thunder glorifies and praises of Him

And everything in existence glorifies Allah the Most High:
Allah said in verse 1 of surah Al Hashr:
Al Hashr (59) 1: Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah.

And their glorification of Allah is expressed through their condition and expressed vocally. Expressing glorification through their condition means that the creation of the heavens and the earth and all that is in them, His perfection in fashioning it, His power over it, His administration over it, indicates His perfection and Him being far removed from any deficiency. Even the disbelievers, hypocrites, atheists and those who hate Allah and His religion necessarily express the glorification of Allah through their condition. For Allah’s creation of them, His administration of their affairs. His provision of what was decreed to them and teaching them what benefits them in their worldly life is an indication of His perfection and being far removed from any deficiency.

As Allah said in verse 50 of surah Taha:
Tahah (20) 50: Our Lord is He who gave each thing its form and then guided it.

That is He guided to what benefits his worldly life. As far as the expressing glorification vocally: All of the creation-the Angels, people, jinn, animals, birds, insects and inanimate objects all glorify Allah the Most High except for the disbelievers and hypocrites from the people and jinn. For they do not glorify Allah vocally. Even though they necessarily glorify Allah by virtue of their state and existence, they were denied the pleasure of glorification of Allah in this world and they will be denied its bliss and the bliss of paradise in the hereafter.

And the animals, birds, insects and inanimate objects all vocally glorify Allah in a manner in which humans are unaware. Thus, they do not understand the glorification of these creatures.

Al Israa (17) 44: The seven heavens and the earth and all that is therein, glorify Him and there is not a thing but glorifies His Praise. But you understand not their glorification.

Al Bayhaqee narrated that Abdallah Ibn Omar said: “Do not kill frogs, for its croaking is tasbeeh (glorification of Allah)”.

The entire universe glorifies Allah the Most High. A believer making plenty of tasbih (glorification of Allah) contains much good, is a great honor and is very virtuous. He should be guarded to make tasbeeh at all times and to not be heedless of that.

As Allah says:
At-Taghaabun (64) 1: Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah. To Him belongs dominion, and to Him belongs [all] praise, and He is over all things competent.

Oh Muslims: There are no blessings in the world comparable to the blessings of the hereafter except the blessing of Iman (faith) and knowing Allah.

And the tasbeeh (glorification of Allah) is from the deeds of Iman (faith). Through tasbeeh (glorification of Allah), the heart and tongue of the believer is immersed with glorifying and exalting Allah and declaring Allah to be far removed from deficiencies. And what blessing is greater than exalting Allah the Most High and servitude to Him through ones heart and tongue?!

So congratulations to those who make plenty of tasbeeh in this world and find pleasure and joy in it. For he is most befitting to enjoy making tasbeeh in paradise just as he enjoyed it in this world.

Imam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The people of Paradise enjoy glancing at Allah, enjoy making remembrance of Him, enjoy glorifying Him, enjoy reciting the Quran and enjoy addressing and calling on their Lord. In this world these were virtuous deeds carrying reward. Therefore, in the afterlife, they are deeds that are enjoyed more than eating, drinking, and intimate relations.

So servants of Allah, make plenty of tasbih throughout the day and throughout the night. Keep your tongues busy with it and let your hearts savor it. For whomsoever enjoyed and savored it in this world will enjoy and savor it in paradise.
