There is no Atonement Incumbent Upon Her
Question :
I had (care of) a baby girl who was breast-feeding, and her mother put her on her bed and went to the other children and sat with them until they slept. Then sleep. overcame her and she slept with them. Then when I arrived and woke her up. I found that the baby girl had cried very much and the signs of crying were clearly apparent. She remained in hospital for a number of days, then she died due to this. The question is: Is there any atonement due upon the mother, and what is it? May Allah reward you.
Answer:
If the matter is as stated by the questioner, then there is nothing incumbent upon the mother of the baby girl, because she did not do anything to cause her death. And Allah is the Granter of success.
