The Ruling on praying behind Grave Worshippers
Question :
What is the ruling on praying behind an Imam who believes that a righteous inhabitant of the grave possesses the power to benefit or harm?
Answer:
It is not permissible to pray behind him, and the prayer will not be correct, because believing that the dead can benefit or harm is major Shirk in matters of Lordship, and their supplication of them, seeking aid from them, making vows to them and sacrificing for them are all major Shirk in matters of worship.
