The Ruling on Mixing with Disbelieving Servant Girls and Sitting and Eating with Them

Question :

In our house, there is a non-Muslim servant; is it permissible for the women of my house to mix with her and sit and eat and drink with her?

Answer:

There is no objection to this and there is no need for the Muslim women of the house to veil themselves from her, according to the most correct of two opinions held by the scholars, but they must not treat her as a Muslim. Instead, they should hate her for Allah's sake, according to the Words of Allah:
Indeed there has been an excellent example for you in Ibrahim and those with him, when they said to their people: "Verily, we are free from you and whatever you worship besides Allah, we have rejected you and there has begun between us and you, hostility and hatred forever - until you believe in Allah, Alone."

They should return her to her country, if she does not embrace Islam, because it is not permissible for either Jew or Christian or any other disbeliever to remain in this Arabian Peninsula - whether men or woman.

This is because the Prophet ordered their removal from this peninsula; and the Muslim men and women stand in no need of them all praise and thanks be to Allah - and because their presence among the Muslims is a danger to them, as they may corrupt the beliefs of the Muslim and his morality.

Therefore it is incumbent upon all of the Muslims in this peninsula not to bring them here, nor to mix with them because of the great dangers they pose to the beliefs and morality of the Muslim men and women. I ask Allah that He make the Muslims able to dispense with the need for them and to protect them from their evil. Verily, He is Most Magnanimous, Most Generous.
