Donating Sperm and Artificial Insemination
Question :
Is it permissible for a man to donate his semen, or for a woman to donate her ova?
Answer:
It is not allowed to donate these according to what is apparent, since it requires touching the 'Awrah, the use of something filthy, and touching what is unclean, as well as it being something not warranted. For Allah Almighty is the Creator and the One who arranges all matters:
"He bestows female (offspring) upon whom He wills, and bestows male (offspring) upon whom He wills. Or He bestows both males and females, and He renders barren whom He wills. Verily, He is the All-Knower and is able to do all things."
In this case there is no necessity - if Allâh wills. A person should be satisfied with what Allah has created, and with what He has given to him.
