Ethical lessons from the sayings and deeds of Hajj

This is the month of Dhol-Qi’da one of the sacred months and one of the fixed times of Hajj, as Allah declared in the Quran: (The Hajj (pilgrimage) is (in) the well-known (lunar year) months. So whosoever intends to perform Hajj therein by assuming Ihram, then he should not have sexual relations, nor commit sin, nor dispute unjustly during the Hajj).

  1. The first action of the Heart deeds is the intention. The intention is the first and important pillar of any action in Islam.

What is the virtue of the intention in Islam and what is are the lessons we can learn from the intention? This is the topic I’m going to share with you today.

  2. When you are sincere, others will trust you.
When Muslims be sincere with following the book of Allah and the Sunna of the prophet Mohamed (SAW) the righteous people will trust them and all Muslims will trust one another.

But if the intention is bad we will see the distrust as we see between some husbands and wives, between the leaders who have no intention but to collect money and leave people poor and sick, and the disharmony among people. For example; it was a man plays with his flute, a snake came out of his hole, danced and enjoyed the music of the flute, the snake used to throw a piece of gold to the man every time he comes. One day the man became sick and told his son about this secret, the son went to the place and played the flute and when the snake threw a piece of gold The boy tried to kill the snake and get the treasure in the hole, the boy cut the tail of the snake but the snake killed the boy. When the man came back the snake did not come out as before. The man asked the snake, why don’t you come out and enjoy the music of the flute? The snake replied; “the intention is changed, you will never forget your son and I will not forget my tail).

  3. Sincerity protects Muslims from evil.
Sincerity brings you closer to Allah (SWT), whoever is closer to Allah, Allah will help him to do everything by Allah’s power as what is mentioned in one holy hadith that when my servants gets closer to me by performing extra nwafil I will be his hearing, hands, and legs, and if he asks me I will answer him. This is why Allah protected Yousef from the illegal sexual relation with the wife of the minister of Egypt, because he was sincere to Allah (Thus it was, that We might turn away from him evil and illegal sexual intercourse. Surely, he was one of Our sincere servants).

  4. Sincere intention organizes the desires.
Our desires are a lot and our sincere intention organizes them to make the important first. When three people came to ask about the worship of the prophet (SAW) they found that they do nothing beside the prophet (SAW). One of them said I’m going to pray the hall night, the second said I’m going to fast the whole entire life, and the third decided to abstain from marriage. The prophet told them but I’m pray and sleep, I fast some time and sometimes I do not, and I marry, so whoever abstains himself from my way he is not a part of me). Intention helps your brain signal to be positive not negative. Train yourself to wake up early for Fajr prayer one day you love it, and train yourself to do and action you do not like one day your brain will change its signal from bad to good.
