✨Eid al Fitr Khutbah
Be conscious of Allah Almighty on this great day. And be grateful to Him for completing the fasting and the night prayers. And follow Ramadan up with fasting six days from the month of Shawwal so that it would be as if you fasted the entire year as was related in an authentic hadith.
Allahu Akbar, Allah Almighty made Ramadan a season of goodness and to attain good deeds. There are those who strived hard and adhered to the Quran and did good. And today is the day that they will be rewarded. Their efforts are appreciated and their sins will be forgiven. May Allah Almighty make us and all Muslims among them.
Allahu Akbar, Allah gives respite to the disobedient and accepts the repentance of those who repent and is more joyous over their repentance than the one who lost his riding animal in the desert then finds it after having given up hope. So those who have wronged themselves repent to your Lord.
Az Zumar (39) 53: Indeed, Allāh forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
Allahu Akbar, Allah established worshipping of Him in all situations, times and places. And He did not limit it to Ramadan. And He the Almighty ordained voluntary prayers, fasting, charity and acts of kindness, in every day and every night. As a favor from Him upon His servants so that they can draw nearer to Him with what they are able to do. For the Prophet // said:
Do (good) deeds according to your capacity, for by Allah, Allah never grows weary (of giving rewards) unless you grow weary (of doing good deeds), and the best deed in His sight is that which is done regularly. [Bukhari 1151, Muslim 785]

Oh people:
Iman (faith) is a necessity. For there is no comfort without iman, and there is no tranquility for the hearts except with iman. For that reason, iman is the most important of necessities. Through iman one’s heart will have peace and their soul will be content, and their happiness increases, and their sadness fades, and their worry and distress vanish. And one will taste the sweetness of life. Through iman, one is able to face life’s burdens, problems, and hardships. So they sleep with peace of mind. And they toil in fulfilling their worldly affairs , armed with iman (faith).
With iman, ones knows their beginning and ending and are certain of their return to their Lord. Allah Almighty said:
Al Baqarah (2) 46: Who are certain that they will meet their Lord and that they will return to Him.
Through Iman one knows the two paths and their respective destinies. Allah Almighty said:
Insan (76) 3: Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful.
And Allah Almighty said:
Ash Shurah (42) 7: A party will be in Paradise and a party in the Blaze.
And with Iman, a person knows that their sustenance and lifespans are written and decreed. No one owns sustenance and lifespans except Allah Almighty, so a person does not worry or occupy themselves with them. Sustenance and the lifespan are coupled and guaranteed. As long as their is lifespan left the sustenance will come. Allah Almighty said:
Hud (11) 6: And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allāh is its provision,
And Allah Almighty said:
An Nisa (11) 78: Wherever you may be, death will overtake you
And with Iman, a person works for their afterlife because it is the permanent home. And works in their worldly life seeking their afterlife for their knowledge that this world is fleeting and the abode of afflictions.
Allah Almighty said:
Al Qasas (28) 77: But seek, through that which Allāh has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world.
And with Iman, a person knows that this world is a fleeting enjoyment. So they are not deceived by what fortunes come to them, nor are they distressed by what they miss out on.And they do not envy anyone for its sake. And they do not devote themselves to it.
Allah Almighty said:
Ar Rad (13) 26: And they rejoice in the worldly life, while the worldly life is not, compared to the Hereafter, except [brief] enjoyment.
And Allah Almighty said:
Al Hadid (57) 20: And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.
And with Iman, a person spends from their worldly life to maintain their religion. And they do not spend their religion for the sake of maintaining their worldly life. For they will inevitably leave it.
Allah Almighty said:
Al Isra (17) 18-19: (18) Whoever should desire the immediate – We hasten for him from it what We will to whom We intend. Then We have made for him Hell, which he will [enter to] burn, censured and banished. (19) But whoever desires the Hereafter and exerts the effort due to it while he is a believer – it is those whose effort is ever appreciated [by Allāh].
And with Iman, a person is steadfast through trials of ease and hardship. So they are not deceived by good fortune that has befallen them, nor do they despair because of an adversity that has befallen them because of their knowledge that trials and tribulations are afflictions from Allah Almighty and those who respond appropriately will be greatly rewarded.
Allah Almighty said.
Al Anbiya (21) 35: And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned.
And with Iman, a person fulfills the rights and obligations due to Allah Almighty and His creation. So the person does not shortchange anyone because they are mindful of Allah regarding their obligations and do not monitor what others are obligated to do. Allah Almighty said:
An Nisa (4) 58: Indeed, Allāh commands you to render trusts to whom they are due.
And every right that you owe to others is a trust that you must fulfill.
And the person whose heart is filled with Iman, loves for others what they love for themselves. And they hate for others what they hate for themselves. So they love Iman and the sunnah for others and they call others to them. And they hate disbelief, bida’ (introduced matters without a basis) and sin. So out of kindness and goodwill and genuine concern, they deter and advise others away from them. For the believers, good is for themselves and others and they do not like bad for others.
Allah Almighty said:
Al Imran (3) 104: And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful.
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa Ilaha illaLah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa liLahil Hamd
Oh Muslims:
So be conscious of Allah Almighty and thank Him on this great day. For it is a day of having gratitude for His great favors and abundant gifts and bestowals.
Allah Almighty said:
An Nahl (16) 18: And if you should count the favors of Allāh, you could not enumerate them.
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa Ilaha illaLah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa liLahil Hamd
Not having Iman is misguidance and loss. And reduction of Iman is a reduction of happiness and peace of mind. And in death a person will see the reward of their Iman and righteous deeds. And those who lost their Iman will lose out.
Allah Almighty said:
Al Hajj (22) 56-57: (56) [All] sovereignty that Day is for Allāh; He will judge between them. So they who believed and did righteous deeds will be in the Gardens of Pleasure. (57) And they who disbelieved and denied Our signs – for those there will be a humiliating punishment.
All people need Iman and it’s requirements, to equip them in facing life’s difficulties. And no one will withstand the trials of our times except the people of firm Iman. And no one will walk safely among life’s minefields and their dangers and reach their destination, except for those who equip themselves with iman and practically implement it in their lives, and are conscious of its parts and its details, and are cautious of its nullifiers and reducers.
All the ordainments of Islam are from Iman. And all rulings are from Iman. Falling short in any of them reduces Iman. And every act of obedience is from Iman and increases Iman. And every sin reduces Iman. And Iman is not by wishing, rather Iman is through conscious speech and deeds.
And parents have an obligation to raise their children upon Iman and to instill it in their hearts. For it is a much greater necessity than food, water and air.
So parents and particularly mothers instill Iman in your infants through the remembrance of Allah in front of them. And teach your toddlers Iman when they start to crawl by accustoming them to the remembrance of Allah. And when they take their first steps, teach your children Iman by attributing all blessings to Allah. And when they can discern, teach your children the Quran. For it is the Book of Iman. And teach them the pillars of Iman and Islam. And instill in your children’s hearts that Iman is the most valuable matter that they possess. So they can lose everything in this world but must not lose Iman. For whoever possesses Iman possesses everything. And whoever loses Iman, loses everything.
Allah said:
Az Zumar (39) 15: Indeed, the losers are the ones who will lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, that is the manifest loss.
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa Ilaha illaLah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa liLahil Hamd
Oh Muslims:
Rejoice in Eid within the limits of what Allah Almighty has permitted. And advise each other to truth and advise each other to patience. And avoid evils, for they destroy Iman and remove blessings and lead to punishment.
