The Position of the One led in Prayer if He recites a Verse in which there is a Prostration


Question :

What should I do if I recite a Surah in which there is a prostration and I am praying behind the Imam?


Answer:

Do not prostrate, because following the Imam is obligatory and the prostration of recitation is a Sunnah. And when a person is being led in prayer, it is not permissible to prostrate, because if one prostrates, knowing that it is not permissible, it will invalidate his prayer.
