The Athan for Prayer in the Workplace
Question :
If we are in the workplace and it is only a short distance to the mosque, may we call the Athan in our workplace?
Answer:
It is obligatory for you to pray in the mosque in congregation, as the Prophet said:
"Whoever heard the call (to prayer) and did not answer it, there is no prayer for him, unless he has an excuse (illness etc.)
But if you are truly prevented from it, then it is lawful for you to call the Athan and Iqamah where you are, based on the legal evidences for that.
