My Father's Sustenance is Unlawfully Derived

Question :

If my father's income is derived through unlawful means, can we eat the food he brings home? If not, what should we do?

Answer:

When the father's livelihood is unlawful then it is him. do yourselves if you are able, or ask a scholar or a trusted friend of his to do so for you, in the hope that he will stop earning money by unlawful methods. In the case that nothing works with him, you can eat from him according to your needs, and there is no sin upon you for doing so. But you are not allowed to take more than is necessary because there is doubt surrounding the issue of eating the food of somebody whose income is unlawful.
