How to Perform Tarawih Prayer in Detail
Tarawih prayer is a confirmed Sunnah performed by Muslims during the month of Ramadan after the Isha prayer. It is a form of night prayer that brings believers closer to Allah, creating a spiritual atmosphere filled with peace and serenity.
Steps to Perform Tarawih Prayer
1.Performing Isha Prayer:
The Muslim starts by performing the four obligatory rak’ahs of Isha prayer.
2. Performing the Sunnah of Isha:
Afterward, two rak’ahs of Sunnah prayer are performed.
3. Performing Tarawih Prayer:
- Tarawih is performed in sets of two rak’ahs, followed by tasleem.
- It can be prayed as 8 rak’ahs, 11 rak’ahs, or more, based on one’s ability.
- It is recommended to take a short break after every four rak’ahs for supplication and seeking forgiveness.
Performing Shaf’ and Witr Prayers
After completing Tarawih, it is recommended to perform Shaf’ and Witr prayers as follows:
1. Shaf’ Prayer:
- Performed as two rak’ahs.
- In the first rak’ah, Surah Al-A'la is recited after Al-Fatihah.
- In the second rak’ah, Surah Al-Kafirun is recited after Al-Fatihah.
2. Witr Prayer:
- Performed as one rak’ah.
- Al-Fatihah is recited followed by Surah Al-Ikhlas.
- After bowing, it is recommended to raise the hands and supplicate.
