His Father Married Her Mother, is She Permissible For Him?
Question :
A man married a woman, then she married another man and she bore him a daughter. Then the mother died and the daughter was left behind; but the first man, who had married her mother married another woman, and she bore him a son, and the son proposed marriage to this girl - the daughter of the woman whom his father had married. What is the ruling on marrying her?
Answer:
It is permissible for the son to marry the aforementioned daughter, even though his father had married her mother, according to the Words of Allah, Most Glorified, Most High:
"All others are lawful, provided you seek (them in marriage)
And the aforementioned girl is not one of those forbidden women mentioned in the Verse, nor in any Sunnah. And Allah is the Granter of success. And may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet, Muhammad and upon his family and Compa- nions.
