Dua for Asking For Martyrdom

✨اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ شَهَادَةً فِيْ سَبِيْلِكَ

Translation :

O Allah, I beg you for martyrdom in Your path.

Transliteration :

Allāhumma innī as’aluka shahādatan fī sabīlik.

Hadith:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever asks for martyrdom with sincerity will be ranked by Allah among the martyrs even if he died on his bed." (Muslim 1909)

Zayd b. Aslam (raḥimahullāh) narrates that ʿUmar b. Khattab (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) would say [the above] and add: “and death in the city of your beloved.” (Muwatta 1003)
